How it works

From Agent installation to report — in four steps.

Deploying ActiSignal requires no changes to workstation infrastructure. The lightweight ActiSignal Agent sends activity metadata to the organization's dashboard, and administrators and team leads work in one consistent interface.

Deployment process

Four steps, one flow of signals.

Every stage is transparent to the organization and to the people using the devices. The steps can be rolled out gradually — team by team.

  1. 1
    Step 1

    Install the ActiSignal Agent

The lightweight Agent is installed on company Windows computers — manually or through the standard software distribution tools used in the organization.

    • Manual or mass installation via distribution tools
    • Runs in the background, no interaction required on the device
    • Sends activity metadata only
  2. 2
    Step 2

    Assign devices to the organization

Each device is assigned to an organization and, optionally, to a team or location. The dashboard immediately shows its status and Agent health.

    • Assignment to organization, team and location
    • A separated environment for every organization
    • Administrative roles granted within the organization
  3. 3
    Step 3

    Review activity signals

Administrators and team leads see availability, work sessions, application usage and Agent health in one interface — with filters by team and period.

    • Online and offline status and the last signal
    • Sessions split into active and idle time
    • Warnings for Agents that need attention
  4. 4
    Step 4

    Analyze trends and reports

Activity history and periodic reports support resource planning, licensing decisions and the diagnosis of technical problems.

    • Application category usage trends
    • Periodic reports ready to share
    • Event history for troubleshooting

Architecture

Device → signal → ActiSignal → insight.

The Agent installed on company computers passes activity signals to the ActiSignal platform. The data lands in the separated environment of the organization the devices belong to and is presented as clear views and reports.

Reports
periodic summaries

The Agent records information about device state and sessions, then passes it to the platform at regular intervals together with a heartbeat. If a device is offline, the Agent reports back once the connection is restored, and the dashboard records the time of the last signal.

Administrators use the dashboard according to roles granted within the organization. Periodic reports can be shared with management and the IT team without granting access to the full dashboard.

Data scope

What is sent, and what is not.

The scope is deliberately limited to the activity metadata needed for operational purposes. ActiSignal is not a tool for recording the content of work.

Sent to the dashboard

  • Device status (online, idle, offline)
  • Work session start and end
  • Active and idle periods
  • Categories of applications in use
  • Agent health: version, heartbeat, last synchronization

Not sent

  • Keystroke contents
  • Screenshots and screen recordings
  • Microphone and camera recordings
  • Clipboard contents
  • Message, email and document contents

The scope and purpose of processing should follow from the organization's internal regulations. The organization remains the data controller.
